iomagic 16x external dvd writer B7C9

Postby yg1491 on Thu Apr 07, 2005 10:26 am

I recently purchased an iomagic external dual format double layer dvd writer. I purchased 16x dvd's from both Pleomax (samsung brand) and ridata. Niether worked on my burner. I tried upgrading my firmware from B7C9 and nothing works. Does anyone know what firmware version I need to upgrade to from the version I currently have, and where can I get it? Or is it some other issue?

Try 16x media from Verbatim or TY..that should solve your issues.

Sounds like a Benq FW. Get B7P9 or B7T9 from the Benq global website and try.

Issue with Firmware

Postby yg1491 on Fri Apr 08, 2005 6:24 am

I will try B7T9 but I tried multiple firmware versions before (not sure if B7T9 was one of them) and I always get an error when attempting to flash the drive. The error message was "Drive not support". Iomagic support basically tried 4-5 different versions and they all failed out. Then they told me I dont need a firmware update. But I know there are newer firmware versions out there that may help, so I am not sure what to do. Has anyone had such an issue?
