Resize photos

Hi,

I'm trying to put together a couple of web sites and have hundreds of photos to resize. Doing the photos one at a time is taking much longer than I prefer.. Anyone know of a program that will let me resize a folder of photos by using some type of < select all > function?

i've never done it, but IrfanView is supposed to have batch-processing capabilities.
it's freeware and supposed to be a very good program for handling various graphics files.

I use Jasc's (now Corel ) Paint Shop Pro for a lot of my photo editing. It lets you do batch jobs so you can do multiple resizes, renames, etc. If you want to check it out a trial can be downloaded from www.corel.com

Photoshop lets you do it too by creating droplets. Basically, you create a custom action (resize photo, color correct, etc), then you can turn that action into a "droplet" application. You can then drag and drop multiple images on to the droplet and will perform the actions you specified.

I just spent a few hours playing around with Paint Shop Pro and IrfanView.

The IrfanView program is nice and small and will batch resize, convert etc, just fine. It's nice that the owner makes it available as freeware.

Fortunately, I already had a copy of Jasc's Paint Shop Pro. Unfortunately, I don't know how to use all it's features! Never could figure out how to batch resize (other than the default option of 150 x 100) until Ian said it could be done. So, after another couple of hours of pulling my hair out, I stumbled across a feature where a custom script can be created to do all the resizing like I prefer.

The next time I get stumped I'll ask sooner.
