Creating VCDs

I've been trying to create VCDs using Dazzle's Main Actor software and I haven't had any luck. I'm burning the cd using Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 and viewing it on my computer and a VCD capable DVD player. I can view the mpg file on my computer without any problem, but, I haven't been able to view it on my DVD player. I've tried writing at slower speeds and using different CD-R media. Can someone suggest how I can create VCDs?

Are you just dragging and dropping the MPG video onto a data CD and burning it?

Not exactly, I'm selecting the file and then I click on the add button. After that, I burn the file onto a data CD-R disc.

Are you using Easy CD Creator Basic or the Platinum version?

easy cd creator basic does not support burning vcd's... only the platinum version does...try ulead's dvd movie factory to create vcd with custom menus.

Nero 5 is also able to create VCDs with custom menus.
It is also able the make SVCDs with the mpeg2 plugin.
I have made some vacation SVCDs using this and it works great. There is a walkthough available to do this at www.vcdhelp.com
