Mini DV what fomat should I caputre in?

Postby aristottle on Thu Feb 24, 2005 12:09 pm

Ok....I have a full MINI DV tape that I recorded of the family in LP mode.
I want to capture it to my hard drive.......what format should I capture it in. Windows Movie Maker in XP gives me a LOT of options....I started with DV format and after 10 minutes it used like 3 gigs?

I want to burn the finished product onto single layer DVD+R with as little loss in quality as possible....and I would prefer to have it on one DVD if possible.

So...what settings should I use????

Thanks

BTW....I have Roxio 7.0
Nero 6.3
Ulead 7.0 SE
XP PRo
120 gig hard drive 7200rpm
512 megs of ram
64meg video card
P4 2 gig processor

DV-AVI(13GB/hr) gives the best quality, your PC specs look good for making DVD's.
If you have Nero 6 suite(not OEM) you could use Vision Express or use Ulead VideoStudio 7.0 SE.
Go to www.videohelp.com for guides.
