I've always, 12 months , thought of Ricoh as one of the better DVD media brands. So Ricoh is now selling direct, but not cheap.

Well, ok... Ritek is a good example of that not actually being true all the time, but most companies aren't as stupid as Ritek.

How does Ricoh compare to Maxell or FujiFilm. Ricoh prices seem quite high to me: How about you?

By purchasing directly from the manufacturer customers will be assured of the most affordable pricing.

Affordable my ass.. I don't even pay that much for 16x +R media. I wonder if their DL media is actually made by them (I know it is in some places).

R&D versions of the Double Layer were supposed to ricoh manufactured in japan.
However all spotted stuff on the european market seems to bemade in taiwan by Ritek

About Ricoh media - Dual Layer is arround 6 euro's in europe (and that's includeing Holland were we have 1 euro levy on it !!)
I can get the 16x media for something arround 0.66 euro a piece. (retail.)
The 8x media +R and -R version(Yeah we got ricoh -R in europe which mostly has a CMC code !) are something arround 0.55 euro.
