Multisession, Automatic including of anything new - how to

Postby Phil K on Tue Jan 25, 2005 4:47 pm

What Nero used to do when I went to add anything new on a multisession was to add everything new that had been added to the folders I had burned onto my cd/dvd. It used to do it automatically, Only now its stopped doing so and I have not a clue why.

Anyone clued up to help me out ? [-o<

What version of Nero do you have?

Are you using Nero Express or Nero Burning ROM interface?

If you are using Nero Express, you need to make sure the disc containing the previous writes is loaded in the Recorder before you launch Nero Express, or it will assume you are creating a new disc.

If you are using Nero Burning ROM, you need to select 'Continue Muliti-Session' and have the disc loaded in the recorder before you click NEXT.

Well yes - of course I did that !!! :D #-o
Seriously though - the point I am making is that what it USED to do, was, without me doing a thing, it would look at what I had on the disc, check where it was got from, and if Folder A was on the disc, and folder A was on drive c, but with 3 extra things that were not on the disc, then they would automatically be included. Now it seems to have switched itself off. I'd like if possible for it to be switched back ON. And yes, everything you say were always done as part of a normal routine anyway.

Oh - its version 6.6 by the way.

Hi Phil K,

I'm going to need you to be very specific if I'm to help you resolve this issue. :)

I just tested the process, and it's working, so I need to know your step by step process. For Example, here is mine.

1) Launch Nero Express
2) Select Data->Data Disc
3) Select a folder from My Documents called 'TEST'
4) Go to Finall Burn Window and select option for 'Allow files to be added later'
5) Now Burn
6) Close Nero Express after burn is succesful and disc is ejected
7) Re-insert disc I just created
8) Add files and folders to the My Documents->Test folder
9) Launch Nero Express again
10) Select Data->Data Disc

And at this point Nero Express checks for new files and folders contained in the Test Folder and a popup window comes up telling me what new folders have been added, and what files have been changed/removed since last write. (See below excerpt of message I get in the pop-up window)

---------------------------
Nero Express
---------------------------
Refresh complete!

0 files/folders have been removed,
4 files/folders have been added,
and 1 files/folders have been replaced.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

As far as I can tell, the process is working normally.

A few questions:

1) You say you have Nero 66, do you mean Nero 6.6.0.6?
2) Are you selecting files from the DeskTop? This feature does not work with files on the DeskTop, it must be a Folder on the DeskTop with files contained within. Only then will the refresh feature work.
