Well, the new version seems to be working fine so far. I was able to back up two movies successfully. Nero has also fixed having to point directly to the VIDEO_TS folder. Cool!! I'll keep testing for bugs later this week.

Recently I wasted 4 DL discs and can't figure out whats going on. The disc plays fine in my burners, but my combo drive will not recognize the disc, and my stand alone player (lvd-2001) will not play the movie portion.

Not really an issue, it’s just an additional step that I thought was unnecessary.

I am assuming you set the book type to DVD-ROM? Yes. Maybe it's time to get a new stand alone DVD player?

I still love this player, plays divx flawlessly. normal 1080i, and it can up scan itself to 1080i. Now all I need is a HDTV

A lot of new players still don't have the 1080i standard.

Oh, I forgot all about the testing I did with dual layer discs and redode 2. Bottom line; I don't use recode to copy an entire disc. I use nero and I do the disc to disc copy thing. Hope this helps.
