recently I had the need do burn a 400MB ZIP archive on CD. Nero 5.5 did burn it obviously without problems, but when I tried to unzip the file, it stopped after a while with "bad CRC". Tge zip file itself could be copied to harddisk without errors, just the content is bad.
I rechecked my original ZIP - still fine. Burned another CD "successfully" -> same problem.
Installed 6.0 update, burn "successfully" -> bad ZIP
Now I did really believe my drive is bad but since I have no other one, I tried some desperate things:
Burned the ZIP with Windows/XP "copy and paste" --> works great, ZIP OK!
"burned" just an image with Nero "Image-Recorder" and mounted it with the apropriate Nero ImageDrive tool. Guess what, ZIP corrupt! Without even touching my CDR drive.
As a long time (casual but happy) Nero user I'm really baffled about this. It does not seem to be a version problem (tried the latest 6.0 demo too but not the 6.6) and it is certainly not a drive problem.
What could I do to to locate the problem?
