Problems burning DVD's NEC3500 DL

Hello i hava a problem burning dvd movie files with a nec 3500

i hava nero 6 OEm and upgrated it to nero 6.6 but every time ill try to burn a dvd the first time i start nero and i go to burn my computer crashes totaly i can't move mij mouse or anything else if i restat my computer and i´ll try it second time with a new dvd+r disk it works fine! :s

i had an old nec before an 1100 2.4 speed there were not troubles at all works fine but this faster burner causes troubels .

i don't know what to do about it my computer is an Pentium 4 2.66 GHZ 512 mb ddr hard disk is an Western digital 80 gb
Windows xp home edition. Hard drive IDE 1 cable select IDE2 NEC dvd burner secondairy master IDE 2 slave BenQ cd rewriter.

May some have an idea what caus this problem ? im not getting errors or somethin i don't know were to look caus it could be an software problem or an hard ware problem ? Cloud any one please help

I had an odd problem that would crash the machine.


IF the machine had gone into standby, then come out of standby...THEN I tried to use the burner (3500a), it would lock up and die. If I rebooted and tried to use the burner, all was fine.

It ended up being the jumper on the back of the drive...I had it set for cable select. Once I made it the Master, it works fine.

Forsaken, heb je de nwste 2.18 Firmware Update al eens geprobeerd?

Misschien is dat de oplossing, meer DL Media wordt herkent!
Maybe that's the solution, much more DL Media will be recognised!
