I have a HP Pavillion XL866 I used in our office, no gaming just record-keeping. It began to restart itself if more than one operation was running so I cleaned it up and blew it out. I found the cpu fan had gone bad. I changed this part out and also replaced the larger fan in the housing(it was running but noisy). When I restarted it the set up screen gave the following message:
0251-System CMOS checksum bad-Default config. used
0271-Check date and time settings
this was followed by a message to go to F1 or F2
the system froze at this point and will not go any further.
Is there a quick fix for this or do I need to change out the cpu since it may have overheated and gone bad?
Thanks in advance for any information.
