As some of you know, I was at OTFCC (Official Transformers Collectors Convention) this weekend. I consider myself to be a casual fan. I enjoy Transformers, but won't kick your ass for saying that Beast Wars sucked. As you can imagine, there are some pretty hard core fans out there. Some of which drag themselves out of their parents' basement only for these kinds of things. Anyway, I snapped a few pictures of some of the more hard core fans I saw.
Here's a picture of the line to get in. As you can see, there was also some boardgame contest being held in the same building. Talk about uber dorks..
There were three lines to get in. Two of which went pretty much no where. Knowing that everyone would run as soon as the doors opened, wife and I went and stood right in the front.
At first I thought this guy was JamieW, but alas it wasn't. If you didn't know, the guy is dressed as the Autobot Prowl. Nice sweat pants dude!
OK, women at conventions like this are rare and ones that dress up are even rarer. There were actually two of them dressed up as seeker jets, but only one would pose for me.
Lastly, there were a few guys dressed up as Vader, a Sandtrooper and some Mandalorian. Nice costumes, but why the hell are you guys at a Transformer convention?
The highlight for me was talking to Simon Furman (right) and Andrew Wildman (left). These guys have been doing Transformers comics since the 80's. Yes, they are signing a comic for me.
