Nero ShowTime troubles...dial up users beware!

Postby Spazmogen on Tue Jul 27, 2004 4:04 pm

This only occurs when I'm playing back a true DVD.

I can watch a .vob file from the hard drive, I can watch a DivX or mpeg.

But when I try and watch a DVD, I get a lot of pixelation, green lines, purple blocks etc.

It only occurs in ShowTime. Media Player & Media Player classic handle DVD's fine.

Any idea what's causing it?

I've uninstalled Nero, clean tool & regular uninstall.

Re-installed Direct X 9 as well.

I can't screen cap a DVD anymore either. So I had to resort to my digital camera. I even tried a DVD+R movie (thinking I could remove macrovision). Same result. It's not Macrovision.

The same thing happened to me once. I was screwing around with the image settings. I restored them to defaults and all was well.

Thanks ClayBuster.

It wasn't the solution. But it got me in the right area to fix it!

I disabled the hardware acceleration and it cleared it up!

I've got a 32mb Geforce2 GTS with DVD support. Guess software is the way to go with my set up.

Thanks for pointing me in that direction!
