Monitors are on sale quite often. You just have to look around. I have 17inch ViewSonic LCD with dual input (VGA and DVI) and 19inch NEC flat screen CRT which I got for $410 and $220 online.

Why don't you build one yourself to save some money?
All the latest GPU's on graphic cards got so much powerful that they actually outperform FPU found in your CPU. Also RAM on video cards are at least twice faster than RAM used in PC.
