Theres quite a few 121 variations can someone please help?

Pioneer DVD-121 - Regular Tray loading
Pioneer DVD-121CHD
Pioneer DVD-121R
Pioneer DVD-121S - Slot Loader

also who sells these drives in america?
i have a feeling my pioneer 106s will be dieing here soon

One is slot loading, the other has a tray. The CHD and R models are just OEM's.

R for Retail? CHD for who the hell knows?

has anyone heard anything good or bad on this drive

gonna replace my pioneer 106s within the week, just think it couldn't handle all the dvd ripping

R is for Sony OEM's. The CHD model is intended for Chinese OEM distribution. I can't say that I've heard anything bad about the drive.

thx for the info, ill probably go with Litey 167T, pioneer 121 or aopen 1648
