No need for two posts on the same topic.

Regarding the banner, how do you think Ian pays for this site? Ads.

Helps to know what version of Nero you have. Do you want to take MP3s and burn an audio CD or vice versa? CD could also be protected which means you need to use something else to rip.

My recommendation would be use Exact Audio Copy (ripper) and LAME (encoder)... use --alt-preset extreme (for great audio quality) or --alt-preset standard (for best balance between audio quality and space) switches.

Here's a guide, read it, should answer any questions:

If you're dead set on using Nero, I suggest you look to www.google.com to answer your questions or go to Nero and look in the support section as most of us do.

Lastly, www.hydrogenaudio.org is a very good resource for audio related questions.

Thanks tazdevl,

A couple of things I tried to delete the double post but said it was "locked". Secondly I posted question here because it said it was a for "Ahead/Nero" topics. Thirdly I don’t begrudge Ian and understand the need for the banner but does he realize it hovers for a long time and stays put right in the TYPING area. When I log in I have to play hide and seek to login.

"Helps to know what version of Nero you have" version 6 ultra same version I had in my first post. :)

"If you're dead set on using Nero" No not dead set on it just ask a question to find out if I could or not.

Lastly, "use --alt-preset extreme " can you explain that in more detail?

And thanks for the links I'll check them out.

There are 'How To Guides' posted on our webiste for this and many other features for Nero 6 Ultra Edition.

You have a number of ways to RIPP audio with our software.

1) You can go into Nero StartSmart and enable the Expert feature and then go to Audio and you'll find an option for "RIP CD TRACKS".

2) You can launch Nero Express and go to the MORE button at the bottom, and then select SAVE TRACKS from here to RIP audio.

3) You can launch Nero Burning ROM and go to EXTRAS->SAVE TRACKS and RIP audio using this feature

4) You can also use NeroMix to RIP audio from an AudioCD.

Thanks Craig,

Good information, in the meantime I loaded EAC (using LAME) and I'm ripping with it. I also found out what "--alt-preset extreme" stands for :)

I was using MusicMatch and itunes for ripping, I like MMJB but in itunes ripping went okay but burning MP3's CD was a disaster. They won't play very good in my car MP3 player.

Thanks again.
