I remember hearing about this a while back, yeah, pretty amazing. $1,000 is a bit over-priced if you ask me though, LOL.

Actually, $1K isn't too bad, considering it's an external. Maxtors 300GB external (about the only Maxtor I'd ever buy, and then only because it's the only 300GB drive out) is about $300. And you get a boast in performace (in theory, anyway) since it's really a RAID setup. Wonder how hot this thing gets, though?

But, given the current prices of internal drives (250GB/$133), then it's not so attractive. But then, I wouldn't want 4 HDD's in my system (had 5 drives once. Been there , done that, ain't doing it again). I wouldn't go over 3 drives in a system now.

Wonder what kind of HDD's they use, though?

One of the reviews said that they're in a JBOD config, so no performance boost :(

Also, it said they're ATA/133 drives. If that's correct, that means they're Maxtors.

Yeah nice. We have a huge enclosure for storage at work in the lab that has 150GB drives. It has a ton of drives in an array. I think it's around 20TB if I remember correctly. Could be more or less, depending on what RAID level is being used.

I would love to own and try to fill that drive. :D
