I've known too many people into hard drugs.... I've seen it ruin a person's life while they thought it was improving it for them. It's some pretty sad stuff sometimes.

Mind you, I'm not against all drugs. I think pot is fine in moderation, although I don't use it myself, and probably never would.

I have no issue with Pranav's avatar.

Many folks don't like Microsoft for reasons that I don't understand.

Of course, many folks don't like politicians. These reasons I do understand, like sucking taxes out of me as fast as they can.

My problem with Microsoft is mainly based around the fact that before Microsoft became big, people weren't forced to get used to buggy software so much. Microsoft was the first company that essentially expected people to purchase their beta releases, and more and more we rarely see software that would qualify as a non-beta release.

..... people weren't forced to get ......

I think that is my point. People aren't forced. You have othere choices. Use a slide rule, abacus, typewriter, etc. My grandmother lived into her 90s and passed away 40 years ago, was totally happy without a Windows loaded PC.

As far as buggy S/W: get over it. It's just part of it - like the skin on a banana. You don't want to eat it, but you can't get a banana with out it. Better yet, run out a 1000 lines of original code yourself. Give it to all your friends to try on their machines with different hardware and software configurations. Assure them that it is totally bug free.

Now about true forcing: which is, my fair share of taxes. Here is where I have no choice. The politicians have made those choices for me.

So where does that leave us? More likely to find some bug free S/W from Microsoft or some optional taxes?

For the record, the very thought of such a device disturbs me greatly... although not quite as much as the though of a *NEED* for such a device.... :o

well.

i am pissed off at some of the good souls around here.

it's been over a week since TheCDBurner has joined the forum, 68 posts right now.
and not a single word about his/her avatar:

Image

:x

if i had the webserver space and proper graphics editing software, i'd take his avatar, blow it up 6x, and post the pic here.
yeah, and i would add a bit more gruesome stuff, like maybe hack off one of the cat's front legs, and add more blood. perhaps take out one eye.

would do the same thing (i mean magnify and post here) with some of the other "problematic" pics we had around here of late, like BuddhaTB's girl, the wriggling Brittney Spears and a few others alike.

just out of spite to these "good souls".

TheCDBurner, don't take offence if you read this, not aimed at you.
i like your avatar.

Kind of relating to the theme of everyone's previous avatar's, I assume you have all heard of this Miss Universe thing?

What is the fascination with an exploited "glamour" model from the 1980s here anyway?
