Do we all realize that a symptom of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results?

Also see "young and immature" (note: in a few cases, these do not go hand in hand).
Some relationships just weren't meant to be. I remember my first love well, I was on fire for her for four years. Truth be told, even longer than that, when you break up with someone, you tend to forget the good reasons for breaking up, and only remember the things you liked about a relationship.
I'll be married in roughly 3 weeks to someone who loves me for me, isn't constantly trying to change me into someone else, is emotionally communicative, has an incredible sense of humor (she has to, after all she laughs at MY jokes
) enjoys cuddling but knows when to be practical...I guess you could say she pretty much has it all. I won't say I don't look back on the old relationship occasionally...but when I do, I finish by saying to myself "Look what you'd have missed out on if you had settled". There were problems in that relationship that wouldn't have prevented marriage, but they could have made for an incredibly rocky one. Giving up, and taking the time to look for someone who was more like me enabled me to see the right woman when she did come along.
P.S. Monte, there is are plenty of old proverbs about someone who refuses to listen to the advice or wisdom of his friends. The advice in this forum is given not to discourage, but from people who have had what you did, or known someone who did. When you're young, finding someone else seems impossible. It isn't, it just takes time, especially if you're willing to be wait for the right person, rather than having "love" for love's sake. If you're not willing to listen to the advice of people who are trying to be your friends, you should probably stop posting about Jennifer altogether.
