Sony CRX320E10

Postby Garathor on Sat May 08, 2004 8:02 am

I have bought a Sony CRX320E10 combo drive. I have been looking for information on Sony's website, but i am not able to find anything about any CD-R/W or DVD drives. ....If it is there, it is hard to find. Extremely annoying websites.

I would like some documentation for the drive (i bought it bulk). And i would also like to look for a firmware upgrade. Does anyone know if this actually is a Lite-on drive, and which one it is? Is it possible to update my drive using Lite-on firmware in that case?

Do i need a driver for the drive? ...I haven't installed the drive yet.

1) It is a Lite-On drive, specifically the SOHC5232K.

2)You can download the latest .exe firmware for the drive from Lite-On's website, apply FlashFix (google it) to it, and apply to the Sony drive.

3)You don't need a driver for it.

Why would you need a documentation for a CD drive?

Is it completely safe to flash it with the Lite-on firmware? I really want to use it, but I'm afraid I will destroy the drive.

Not a problem. If you're scared, stick to the Sony firmware.
