Medium in drive: DVD+R. Medium required by compilation: CD-R

Hi there,

I'm not new with Nero Burning but I am with burning DVD's. Just have a new PC with a PIONEER DVD RW DVR-107D. When starting Nero Express v6 (or Nero Bunring rom v6), select Data disk, select files for burning, go to burn, insert a new empty 4.7 gb dvd recorable, it returns directly the message:

Compilation cannot be written on that medium type. (Medium in drive: DVD+R. Medium required by compilation: CD-R/RW.)

Why is is searching for a CD-R when the drive perfectly detects a DVD and the amount of data is about 4.5 Gb???

Thanks.

Because you have the CD option selected instead of the DVD. In the Nero StartSmart, in the Top right of the window you have tabs for DVD and CD. Choose the one you wish to work with, then choose the operation you want to do.

Never seen SmartStart. Do you alway's have to start a compilation via SmartStart?

Thanks!

No. You can launch Nero Express or Nero Burning ROM directly. In those cases, you still need to use the Drop Down box to select between CD or DVD format.
