Plextor 712A

DVD-R/W, DVD+R/RW, DVD-RAM

I'm glad your liking your 708 Laserburn,

For you it seems like you've found the perfect drive until 16x DVD+R or DVD+R DL. For some of us here though, we burn so much, we need every small speed increase we can get (not saying I'm one of them) but, a lot of us here do, I like every speed increase I can get, and the drive is going to retail for so little and it's even SATA!

And, also, some of us like to have the very lastest of tech toys. :D
Ciao,

Tired of hackintoshes and went with the real deal.

This would be the more accurate reason as to why the bulk of us are always on the prowl for an upgrade.

I like to keep up to date too, but sometimes people have to be reasonable too! Of course most plextor fanatics don't worry about this issue

There are no more Plextor Fanatics that post on this form, of course I have heard of an emerging new entity called the Pion(atic) but rumors of this nature are highly speculative at this point.

Darn, I was really hoping that aviationwiz was becoming a Pioneer fan so that I could become the next Plextor fanatic :(

I see plextor doesn't have news for us, External DVD Burner Lovers...
Will we have to wait until 16x unit arrives to see Firewire/USB units updates?

Plextor traditionally releases the external versions a while after the internal versions.
i'm sure in a short while they'll release an external 712 (much before the 716).
it will probably be similar to the external 708UF - with FireWire and USB2.

I hope so!
I hope they make colored one as well :)
Plextor is in a place, where is it not only the perfection of performance, but the beauty of a unit as well!
