Pacific Digital drives any good?

My brother just phoned me saying he bought two Pacific Digital drives from Best Buy. What is the quality of this brand? I'm sure he just bought the cheapest drives he could find. He bought one CDRW and one DVDROM.

Lite-On makes the CD-RW drives, they are outstanding drives. Dont know anything about the DVD-Rom though.
