Has anyone heard anything about a new DRU-500A?

I saw this when searching the web:

Interesting. I'm betting it will be nothing more than the drive with the new firmware. Of course, they'll have to change the packaging to advertise the new DVD writing speeds and all that jazz.

So yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a "new version". As far as a new hardware revision goes.. I don't think that will happen. The hardware problems have been nothing more than rumors at this point.

From what I read yesterday, someone whose brother works at Sony (in Product or Marketing if I remember correctly) has confirmed that this is the SAME drive, with the new firmware 1.0e pre-installed and a new packaging to show (market) the 4X DVD+R write speed.
