Nero Start Smart and Picture Quality !!!

Postby vadaszgep2 on Thu Jun 29, 2006 12:36 pm

Hi !!!
I'm using Nero 7 Start Smart Edition software to create SVCD for slideshows. (With pictures, music and transitions). When I play back my SVCD on my TV/DVD everything is great, except the picyure quality. The picture quality is much worst than my original pictures. When I just simply copy my pictures on a CD without using any software the picture quality is much better.
My question is that , is that normal when You create a slideshow SVCD the picture quality is not that great than the original ???????
What is the solution to have the same quality pictures as they are originally, when you play it back as Nero slideshow on your TV/DVD???

Thank you. Please answer me !!!

What resolution (megapixels) are the original pictures? SVCD's resolution is 480x480 pixels, or .23 megapixels. Also, the colorspace of NTSC (I'm assuming you're on an NTSC system) is rather poor to make it compatible with the ancient monochrome televisions out there, so the color quality will suffer as well.

If you can encode your slideshow for DVD quality instead of SVCD, that should help your pictures a fair amount, as the resolution is 720x480, IIRC.
