can anyone venture a guess as to what this option is?should i try to remove it?any suggestions will do.tanks

Hi Coosanders,

This is our Indexing utility. It allows you to select folders you wish to have Nero Scout search for Audio, Video, and PHotos files to be indexed. So that our programs such as Nero Express, Nero Burning ROM, Nero Home, Nero MediaHome, etc can easily find files based on Metadata or file names for burning, playback, or streaming.

You can disable this so that its not running in the background from Windows Explorer->Nero Scout->Options.

Or if you using our Command line options to do the install, you can prevent Nero Scout from installing at all.

When we come out with our Nero 8 Suite later this year, you'll be able to specify which features and programs you want or do not want installed. We are working to become more modular with our installer and programs, so those who only want Nero Express and Nero Vision, for instance, can install only those two programs.

Thats great news... Nero has become a bloated monster and the 7.x series has not lived up to my high expectations. Here's to hoping Nero 8.x comes back swinging!
