BEFORE NERO:
1. I start with a 8.X GB MPEG video file that I edit with VideoReDo.
2. This results in a 5.55 GB VOB file that I save to Hard Drive.
WITH NERO (Burning ROM, 7.2.3.2; Vision, 4.5.0.24):
1. I get the message: "The InCD API could not be loaded" on OS boot.
2. I open Nero StartSmart
3. With CD/DVD selected at the top, I click on the "Make Your Own DVD-Video" icon.
4. I click on "Add Video Files" I select the *.vob file and click "Open."
5. I select "DVD-9" in the drop down list box in the lower right corner.
6. The blue line shows "Total space used: 7.94 out of 7.95 GB.
The video title is 2h 22m 58s.
Target video options: 720 x 480 (CCIR-601 D1) - 4:3
7. After 3 "Next" clicks I select "Write to Hard Disk Folder" and click to select the Folder.
8. When I click "Write" I see a display that predicts the encoding process to require about 2 hrs and 15 minutes of processing time.
WITH NERO (Burning ROM, 7.0.8.2; Vision, 4.1.0.15):
1. No warning message relating to InCD on boot.
6. The blue line shows "Total space used: 5.19 out of 7.95 GB.
The video title is 2h 22m 58s.
Target video options: 720 x 480 (CCIR-601 D1) - 4:3
7. After 3 "Next" clicks I select "Write to Hard Disk Folder" and click to select the Folder.
Note all Burn Options, 2 pass, etc., are the same.
8. When I click "Write" I see a display that predicts the encoding process to require about 30 minutes of processing time.
9. I also see a display reading "nero smart encoding", which was not seen in the first example.
ISSUE:
I am not able to get the far less time consuming nero smart encoding with Nero 7.2.3.2 although I think that I am following identical procedures.
Craig?
Anybody?
Thanks,
