Nero 5.5.10.54 doesnt see my Pioneer 107

Postby ryus on Tue Feb 10, 2004 9:50 pm

I'm not sure why, but I cant choose my 107 drive from the 'Choose Recorder' tab.

Can someone verify this?

wow you and me have pretty close computer specs, although the IC7-Max 3 mobo would have been my last choice, it got the worst reviews and ratings from computer companies, online reviewers, etc.

Dear ryus,
Hi.Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling Nero? Also was the drive released after Nero 5.5.10.54 or before it?Because if the drive is released after 5.5.10.54 then it will not work and you will have to upgrade to Nero 6 as Nero 5.5 will not be updated any further, according to Craig.
See ya later,

ryus, read here: http://www.cdrlabs.com/phpBB/viewtopic. ... 321#100321
it seems Nero 5.5 won't work with your Pioneer 107.

actually, looking here http://ahead.de/us/632012038142166.php? ... er&lang=en it seems that even Nero 6 doesn't support it! :o

Thanks for the replies guys. I was using Nero 6 and it worked, but I encountered 2 problems with it. I posted about this before, about the Lead Out hanging when burning some dvd's.

Also, when I burn CD's with Nero 6, with my Plextor 48X, I get mad bufferunderuns. I get these bufferunderuns even when I'm not copying on the fly. It ends up like over 10 bufferunderuns!

So I was experimenting with uninstalling 6, and reinstalling 5.

I guess I might need a different program for CD copying.

Thanks again.

yeah, it's about time Ahead got their act toghether and got Nero 6 working properly.

i purchased the Nero 6 license at the end of July and have been waiting till they finally come out with a version that is "bug free" (as much as any software can be bug free). it's certainly about time.

We do have the Pioneer 107 here in the lab and some very quick testing shows it's working. But I have not done enough testing to say there are no problems.

We have had reports from a number of OEM's who ship this model recorder that have had trouble with the firmware.

So before I begin testing, could you provide me with the version of Firmware you are using, and what version of Nero 6? And what operating system are you working under?

Regards,

Craig

Dont get me wrong, the DVD's that I've burnt with the 107 are flawless. Even the ones with the extra long Lead Out. This Lead Out problem only happens on like 1 out of 15 PS2 DVD game burns.

My gripe is that Nero 6 causes my CDRW drive to do stuff that Nero 5.5 doesnt.

Anyways, I'm using Nero 6.3.0.3, and firmware 1.05 for both the 107 and Plextor 48X. Everything is up to date.
