Hmm.. I installed 6.3.1.15 on the new testbed and got this error when burning DVD-RW discs:

I went back to 6.3.1.6 and all is well again.

Ian,

I got the same exact error message. I uninstalled it and did a reg clean with the clean tools. Reinstalled and the same thing happend again. I had to go back to 6.3.1.10. It's working fine now. There's definitely something wrong with 6.3.1.15.

Ahead has a tool that cleans up the registry.

falberni, I too have only seen it with DVD-RW discs. Everything else is fine.. so far.

hoxlund,

I used Nero's own registry cleaning tool, as Ian pointed out. It can be found own Nero's "support" page under "utilities".

ok, i really hope someone can help me with this...

for some reason when i upgraded to this version i keep getting an error message when i try to open nero saying, "nero has detected an attempted non-licensed usage..."

with ever other previous upgrade of nero 6 that i have installed, during the installation process it asks me for my serial and if its not already displayed i type it in, but during this installation it did not have a place for me to enter the serial. and after its done i get the above mentioned error message and then it asks for my serial and i type it in and get the same message.

does this mean that my serial has expired? b/c i have the OEM version of nero 6 ultra edition with the serial printed on the back so it should work up until nero 7 or whatever comes out.

i have tried uninstalling it and erasing the registry entries and i still get the same message after installation.

does anyone know what i'm doing wrong?
