Nero and .iso dvd creation error

Hello all. I recently tried to take a video .iso file and using Nero 7 ultra to make the dvd. I selected "nero express" > data dvd > use image > showed up o.k. then > burn. It stated it was burned successfully. Played on the computer using the Nero Showtime player. HOWEVER, when I tried it on my home entertainment dvd player it said it could not play as it was the wrong "format". My success rate doing this is about 50%. So, what am I doing wrong and is there another program that I can use that will take both an .iso or an .avi and make a working dvd. THANKS to any and all for help.....

You may want to try ImgBurn (www.imgburn.com). I haven't had the best of luck with Nero always either.

If you want to make DVD Videos out of your .avi files, give Nero Vision a try.
