Memorex Dual-X

Postby besalke on Mon Dec 22, 2003 1:03 pm

In your Review of the Memorex Dual-X 4x DVD±RW you state:

"The drive Memorex sent us for this review was manufactured in June of 2003 and had firmware version 1.05. For this review, the firmware has been updated to 1.07"
Where did you obtain the upgrade? I can't locate it.

They sent it to me and since they never made it available to the public, I sent it to Firmware-flash.

I couldn't remember whether or not you wanted to be named as the source. Thanks for all of the firmwares that you've shared Ian!

No prob. I usually like to be anonymous as possible just in case there was a reason this or that firmware wasn't released to the public. I don't want to PO the companies.

What does 1.07 firmware do??

Postby hogluvr on Mon Dec 22, 2003 9:27 pm

If you guys caught my questions in another post, you'll quickly realize that I, too, am a dreaded newbie!! :o

I have decided to go with the Dual-X, and mine also has the 1.05 firmware. What changed with 1.07, and is it worth upgrading to? Also, are there any tricks to flashing?? (never been there, never done that)...

Thanks,
The Hogster
