LITEON LTW-411S What's up with deleting Intel Applic Accel??

Postby Lscman on Mon Dec 01, 2003 11:42 pm

I just bolted in this $90 unit and read the manual...questions remain:

1) Is the Sonic MyDVD Installer Disk really needed if you're using 3rd party burning software?? The reason I ask is because I don't want to remove IAA (see question 2).

2) What's up with Liteon telling users to remove IAA (Intel Application Accelerator) due to some type of compatibility problem? I'm running a P4 Northwood processor with Intel motherboard. This recommendation doesn't sound too good to me.

What's your opinion...what worked for you? Thanks

Many companies recommend the temporary removal of IAA.

If you do a search you can find many references to the IAA Issue. Many have complained that they have problems with IAA.

If you can live with Nero or any other app instead of Sonic then go with it. MyDVD CD is only needed for the installation of it. I have it but I use Nero instead. Also if you have no problems the way things are now, don't change anything.
Stone walls do not a prison make,
Nor iron bars a cage;
Minds innocent and quiet take
That for an hermitage;
If I have freedom in my love,
And in my soul am free,
Angels alone that soar above
Enjoy such liberty. - Richard Lovelace
