INCD Still Writing Message when trying to shut down system

Postby bbobhack on Wed Jan 05, 2005 3:14 pm

When I try to turn off computer I get a panel with statement that INCD is still writing. After short wait the panel goes away and I get new panel on which I have to click on "End Now" button in order to ebnd the INCD task.
This occurs every time I try to shut down the system even though I have not written and cd's in the last couple of days.
INCDSRV.EXE shows version 4.3.0.5
NERO.EXE shows version 5.5.10.56

Not a major problem, just aggravating.

This is not a know issue. I suggest you contact techsupport@nero.com , signal them the issue and check if they can either help immediately or reproduce the issue and forward it to our development departement for fix.

Resolution ???

Postby bbobhack on Sun Jan 16, 2005 11:45 am

I decided to remove and reinstall INCD. I did the add/remove programs from the control panel for the Ahead software. Then using exploer tried to remove the Ahead folder from the hard drive and could not because of the INCDSRV.EXE in the INCD sub folder. The exe was in active and online status when I checked the properties and would not allow it to be deleted or moved. I went into the registry and tried to remove all references to INCD, still no luck getting rid of the INCDSRV.EXE file.

Finally I brought the system up using a Windows Me STARTUP floppy
from my other system. I erased the file from DOS mode then removed
the INCD sub folder. Then after bringing up system I was able to shut it down without the hangup. At this point I have not reinstalled INCD.

When you have trouble to de-install InCD you can use the dedicated clean tool:
