This is just a warning to people jumping on the latest InCD.
Last night I reinstalled Nero 5.5.9.17 and InCD 3.51.61 on my XP Pro SP1 box, together with the latest EasyWriteReader.
Initially everything worked fine: both CD-RW and CD-MRW discs formatted previously by InCD 3.31 were recognized by both Lite-On LTR-48125W VS08 and my DVD-ROM drive. However, the CD-MRW (Mt. Rainier) discs didn't have any data, so I wasn't suprised that when they were mounted on LTR-48125W and then ejected the LED didn't blink red (i.e., nothing was written to them).
But when I mounted a CD-MRW formatted by InCD 3.31 with about 400MB of data and chose to eject it from the InCD taskbar icon (without copying or deleting anything), the LED blinked red a couple of times (strange that InCD updated an "untouched" disc), the tray opened, but after a couple of second I got a BSOD with
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
***STOP: 0x000000A 0x00100004,0x00000002,0x00000001,0x804ECB5E)
The tray could be closed by pressing its button.
Trying again after powering off my box, I got a similar BSOD
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
***STOP: 0x000000A (0x000003BA,0x00000002,0x00000001,0x804ECB5E)
Well, I might be just a single unlucky guy (definitely less lucky than beta testers for Ahead, unless I'm unwittingly one of them).
I didn't have BSODs with InCD 3.31; I upgraded mostly because for some strange reason I lost support for reading CD-MRW on my DVD-ROM drive.
Since BSODs are repeatable in my case, I'll probably wait until more people share their experiences before reverting to 3.31.
