how many cars have you owned?

Postby UALOneKPlus on Sun Jun 15, 2003 1:08 pm

Folllowing the spirit of Liteonguy's thread "how many computers do you own", and this thread:

http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showthre ... adid=18202

How many cars have you owned?

Me, 6, all your average normal cars. No exotics, owned most cars for over 3-4 years.

I love cars, but I don't understand how some ppl can collect so many gorgeous and expensive cars so quickly!!

Ever since I was born, my parents have owned 6 cars, with 3 of them still around.

As for myself, I'm driving around my dad's old car since I can't afford the car I want yet. I'm just waiting for graduation to finally get me something nice.

What car might be the one you desire, out of curiosity?

My list of achievable collectibles IF I was to win a small jackpot:

1) Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo (if only I could find one in good shape, low miles).

2) Toyota Supra (last few years model would be good)

3) Mazda RX-7 (again a late model)

4) Lexus SC300 (manual tranny all the way!)

5) Dodge Stealth R/T (I just love the styling).

My list of unattainable collectibles:

1) Lamborghini Countach
2) Diablo
3) Murcielago (this is my dream car!)
4) Ferrari Modena
5) anything by Ferrari since the Testarosa
6) Pretty much any other racer for $200k or higher

Of course all cars MUST be manual transmission.

The only other extravagance I would allow is a Bentley, just for driving the wife and kids around, after I won that $100 million lottery

The car I want right now is the Nissan 350Z Track Model. But over the next 2 years, that decision can be easily changed if something better comes out.

I really like how you have the Supra and RX-7 on your list as they are very nice and can be extremely fast if tuned correctly. You should look into the Nissan Skyline GT-R, as its even better than the 300ZX.

Very nice list of collectibles you have there. Ferrari and Lambo are tops in the world of Super Cars. But I would never buy a Lambo unless I was a mega millionaire. Ferrari is my true love.

If I ever won the lottery, I'm going straight to the car dealership. :D

I'll probably get a 1980s Volvo when I do get a car. Maybe a Saab, subaru, or Audi...not a ford

my current transportation is a 2001 Specialized Rockhopper A1 Comp FS Disc...with nearly 1000 miles...

Hmmm. Rather boring for me. Just two Nissan Sunnys (I know they're not the most interesting car in the world but they're just so reliable ;)). Mind you I've driven a Sunny GTi-R, what a little stormer that car is, 0-60 in 5.1 seconds, woo-hoo!!!! :D

Other car is a crappy 1992 Vauxhall (GM) Cavalier 1.6GL. Ooh look, manual sunroof

Good Question

1973 4-Door Chevy Chevelle
My dad brought it cheap from the company he worked for - it was painted bright yellow and my freinds called it "the taxi". If you ever want to make freinds in high school drive a 4-door. Ugly but it had a nice back seat!

1981 4-Door Pontiac Grand LeMans
Another cheap ride for college, good gas milage.

1985 Olds Cutlass
A great car - strong 305 V-8, had it for 8 years and put almost 2 million miles driving 60 miles to/from work everyday. I wish I still had it. I sold it to a woman who went out and got wrecked it about 3 months later! 2 years ago I saw it on blocks in someones driveway. Pissed me off that someone could treat a car that way.

1991 Mercury Cougar
3.8 V-6, decent power, great gas mileage but the person I sold it to blew a rod a couple months later. Glad I sold the thing!

1995 Mercury Cougar
3.8 V-6, its now my mother's work car. I wanted a V-8 and power accessories. Painted bright cherry red and a real head turner.

1995 Ford Thunderbird
4.6 V-8, awesome highway car, but Im thinking about getting a Ford Explorer or Jeep Grand Cherokee

My parents have owned 4 vehicles since I was born. Two of them are still around.
