HOW DO I BURN AT LESS THAN 8X WITH NERO EXP 5.5.1042 BUNDLED

Postby backtolife on Sun Jul 13, 2003 9:51 pm

I just found out about this board.

Does anyone know if it is possible to burn an image file at less than 8x's with Nero Express version 5.5.10.42?
If not is there other software or a different version that would allow me to burn at a slower speed. It seems most media sold now is 48x's.

This software came bundled with a LG Burner 8520B. 52x24x52x

My main priority is burning audio cd's, however I have found I am not getting an exact copy. There are slight differences.
I am trying to find out if burning at a slower rate might make a difference.

I have tried different media from Sony, Memorex and just recently purchased Mitsui gold and a few silvers.
I will probably stick with the gold Mitsui CDR's as I bought a spindle of these and have read good things about them

Thanks for any assistance.

Try loading DriveSpeed, at www.cdspeed2000.com, to set your CD-RW speed.

Also get Nero Infotool, and CDSpeed (a CD scanner utility & CD-RW test utility) there as well...

No installs necessary.

The burning speed depends on hardware, not software.
The minimum speed of that drive is 8x:

Those differences are not produced in the burning process probably.
If there are writing quality issues, the disc will be difficult to read.
LG drives usually slow down to 8x ripping speed when they found C2 errors.
Use the LG to rip with secure ripping software like EAC or Feurio (you have to enable C2 and disable index marks in Feurio in order to show c2 errors).
