Help, DMA mode & Asus CD-S500/A

Postby maverick on Thu Jan 01, 1970 3:44 am

i can't seem to get UDMA Mode 2 enabled for this drive, i'm on winxp, intel 815e. the bios shows ATA 33 but winxp doesn't enable it...

so i installed Intel's Application Accelerator and the report says UDMA mode 2 is enabled but when i run Nero's Info Tool, the "Configuration" tab says DMA OFF for the Asus CD-S500/A.
what the heck's goin on here??

help...

try looking under the device manager to see what it shows the drive as.
