Usenetserver's retention is at 35 days right now and keeps on rising! They have beat newshosting with upgrading retention! Pretty amazing. The biggest difference I see with usenetserver vs newshosting is that they offically support 8 connections. Though I know many people say and have got 6, 8, 10, and even unlimited amount of connections to newshosting but its not offical.
I'm still a Giganews fan myself... they also claim to allow 10 connections on the Unlimited plan, but it's all coming in on the same pipe anyways, so what's it matter if you get 4 or 10? I use 4 now...just a general rule of thumb for me I guess on best performance.
