Fun In The Snow

My family stopped at the local ski hill yesterday to try to find some ski boots for my oldest. We didn't find any boots but they had blown a bunch of snow that the kids were playing in.

I'm hoping that they open soon. The nights are getting cold enough where they can start blowing snow.

You ready to break out the snowboard or what?

They're blowing more snow. I bet they'll be open next week.

The nearest snow 'resort' to my home is Flagstaff Snowbowl. They are trying to get approval to make their own snow from treated and cleaned waste water, but the Native Americans are trying to block it from happening. They say that it should not be allowed on this "sacred land". It's a battle in the courts for now. I hope the resort wins and is able to make snow. Snow-making should significantly increase the very small snowboarding season that occurs at this resort. We're already snowboarding all over the "sacred land", let them make some snow!
