Fuji Dvd Media Question?

Postby hydrogen on Sun Feb 29, 2004 8:36 am

Does anyone know who makes the Fuji 50 pack 2.4x Dvd-R media, and the 5 pack of Dvd+RW and Dvd-RW media? The 5 pack of Dvd-RW media is 2x. I'm not sure about the Dvd+Rw. It doesn't say. It's probably 2x also.

Are these media pretty good? I've used Fuji cdrs and Fuji Dvd+R media and it was really good. I'm wondering if their other media is good.

I have a 5-pack of Fuji DVD+RW 4x media. I got one disc to work with my HP DVD writer 300n and then none of the other ones worked after that. In fact, I can't even erase the one disc that I was able to successfully burn... I know my DVD writer can only burn +RW discs at 2.4x max, but I was thinking it would be able to work with these discs... I guess not :(

NoSmartz,

Thank you. I forgot about that list.

I was hoping somone could post what they are using now. Companies usually change a lot. Has anyone bought any fuji 50 pack of Dvd-R, 5 pack of Dvd+RW, or 5 pack of Dvd-Rw recently and could tell me what the media id is?

UMD_Maxima,

Thank you for posting your results

What was the media id of your media? How long ago did you buy it?

I'm not sure if it's 2x or 4x media at Compusa.

I bought that pack of media roughly a month and a half ago from Best Buy. It is 4x media... DVDIdentifier identifies the disc as:

Code: Select all

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unique Disc Identifier : [DVD+RW:RICOHJPN-W11-001]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Disc Type :              [DVD+RW]
Manufacturer ID :        [RICOHJPN]
Media Type ID :          [W11]
Product Revision :       [001]
Disc Application Code :  [General Purpose]
Recording Speeds :       [2.4x]
Blank Disc Capacity :    [Not Supported By Method 2]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
[DVD Identifier - http://DVD.Identifier.CDfreaks.com]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

still don't know why my drive fails to work with this media... :-?

I found myself at a lot of retail stores today and took a look at the 50 pack DVD-R media from Fuji and while I found at least two different styles of packaging, all were made in Taiwan. CompUSA and Best Buy carried Fuji, but I didn't see it at Circuit City or Office Depot.

I bought a 10 pack of DVD-R (up to 4x) at officeMax. Made in Japan. I get my NEC ND-2500A tomorrow from newegg. I'll see what they are, then.
