Firefox freeze issues

Postby Wesociety on Sun Mar 04, 2007 6:27 pm

Firefox is my preferred browser of choice due to all of useful, powerful features, extendability, community roots, open source status and many other reasons.

Lately though I have had constant problems with the browser freezing up and becoming unresponsive. I do tend to have a LOT of tabs open at a time, but I still don't think it should be freezing up like this.

Anyone else having constant freeze issues with Firefox?
Currently running version 2.0.0.2 here.

Yes, but I noticed it with previous versions as well when I chose to open about 15 or more tabs... This seems to be the case with both my Intel P965/E6600 system (2GB DDR2 RAM) and my AMD nForce4 SLI (s939)/3800+ (2GB DDR RAM)... It usually clears up after they load, but I imagine part of it may be due to the fact that I am using the NoScript extension. I guess I should be more specific... It seems to have started with that extension. It is too important to give up.

Hmmm it could be caused by certain sites that run scripts or by an extension I'm using. I'll have to dig around.

Firefox continues to piss me off by freezing up...
It's a browser love / hate relationship!
