External usb2 cases?

Ive got a sony dru500a dvd-rw and usb2 on my mobo. I was thinking of running it externally in a case.

Heres one i found

Thoughts please anyone? I dont want to spend money on a lemon but I would like an external unit so I can put the pc in a cabinet.

Will I be limited on data transfer or have problems that ive not seen? usb2 is fast enough yeah? is that ample for the 4x/24x area that the DRU500 is in? Whats the maximum cable segment length I can run on usb2 for it?

Will both win98 and XP see it ok? What about running nero - will that see the drive and write to it ok? Aspi problems?

I have a Sony DRU-500A in a CompuCable external firewire/USB2.0 enclosure and it works great.I prefer firewire because it maintains throughput(50MBps) even though I have 3 firewire devices connected,if you use USB2.0(60MBps) it shares bandwidth and is only as fast as the slowest device connected.Another benefit of firewire is that you can "daisy-chain" multiple drives together up to 72m away from your PC.

Newegg has a Coolmax combo USB/FW enclosure, has 510 in the product number. Have it, worked great.

burninfool - I dont have any Firewire headers on my mobo Its usb2 or ill have to buy more cards.

Whats so bad about usb2? surely it only shares b/w with stuff on the same channel as itself? And why do you say stuff is only as fast as the slowest item? thats per channel mebee? So if i put my DVDRW in with my joystick then itll go horribly slow? Im not sure I understand.
