Errorcode on sony DRU 510 A

Hi All,

I get errorcode DVDErr 226051 when I try to burn a DVD
with the sony DRU 510 A.
I have a pentium 4 1,6GhZ with 510k DDR and win 2000 Pro.
Does anyone know what causes this problem?
It's frustrating to spend €300 and the damn thing doesn't work !!!!!

What DVD-burning software are you using?

What brand, speed, and type are your blank DVDs?

Are you burning a data DVD or a video DVD?

I'm burning with SONIC MY DVD(Came with the writer) I also downloaded the latest version from the website.

I am using PRINCO DVD-R 1-4X speed 4.7GB SP120min.

I tried to burn DVD & Data, nothing works

I also did a firmware-update and have all the latest drivers (win servP 4)

Viewing DVD's is no problem.

Have you tried any other brands of discs? If I remember right, some writers don't work well with Princo.

not yet, but i downloaded diskcheck from the sony website.
thats a program wich checks the drive.
guess what ...... !! ERROR !!
I've sent a mail to sony.
I'll reply later with the answer

well, I tried a NASHUA DVD +R Version 1.0 4,7GB 120 Min. disk and it worked perfect.
I will buy a DVD -R disk tomorrow from another brand and try again.


Are there other DRU 510 A-users who had similar problems???

I think the problem was the PRINCO DVD's;
I bought a pioneer DVD -R and burned data on it without
any problems. I even did a multi session.
So if anyone is having problems with PRINCO DVD -R's and
the DRU 510 A the problem is the princo-brand.

If there's anyone who uses princo and the DRU 510 a without
any problems let me know (so I can return the whole case of DVD's
to the shop)
