8x DVD-R and 4x DVD-RW should be finalized soon.

Make up a rumor, huh? Ok, here goes:
DVD-R/RW will not see any faster speeds EVER. The DVD+R/RW group has paid off all of the drive and media makers to stop the developement of anything faster. Sony, Lite-On, Plextor, LG, Teac and many other drive manufactures have joined the -DVD-RW group (anti DVD-RW)...

Ok, I'm done :P

Isn't DVD-RW somewhat, um, "buggy"? Maybe they should concentrate on fixing it.

I'll stick with +...

Being bugy depends on your definition.
The procesR uses is much more complicated as the +R approach.
Still -R is more compatible however most moderen players can play both formats fine.(+R is a infact a bit harder to read because of reflectivity issues that's why some cheap players with poor optical pick-ups (like Sony's PS2. I think it was with the V6 model that they fixed most issues. Still officially it doesn't support DVD+R only v9 and higher(if they ever see the light )do !) are haveing more problem with supporting +R media in the past !)

Maybe all the Big Corp.'s will bow to public pressure and support all formats.LOL
For now I'm stickin' with DVD +.NO problems as of yet.
