DVD Resolution

Postby davehelm on Fri Mar 07, 2003 3:08 pm

Since I understand that native DVD is encoded w 480 Horizontal scan lines, would it be best to set my resolution to 640 480 to watch it full screen?

not really, as the width of DVD MPEG-2 video is 720.

i would think it best to keep your display at it's normal resolution and let the DVD software scale up the video to fit (or automatically changes the resolution itself). Good DVD software should do a good job up scaling up the video to avoid blocking.
