You need Recode 2 which is a part of NeroVision Express... There are many programs to backup DVD movies. Just search the forum or use a search engine like Google.

Try DVDShrink 3 then use Nero for Burnin'. http://www.dvdshrink.info/
Or if you like Nero recode 2,you have to use an app called "DVD Region Free" or "AnyDVD" to rip to your HD for Recode 2 to work like it's suppose to. http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/ra-guide.htm

You can use DVD Decrypter (which is free!) to copy the DVD to the hard drive, then use Nero Recode 2 to compress it.

Recode2 is basically the next version of DVD-Shrink; it has better quality than 3.05b, and was written by the same person. But you have to use a seperate program to decrypt the DVD. DVDShrink is an "all-in-one" type of program.

Thank You guys! I've talked to a few people about this issue, and have tried using DVDshrink, but most people say they don't need to compress over 25%. when I tried, I have to compress it to 40%(level8) to fit in my DVD disk! did I have any setup wrong?

It all depends of a movie, its length, screen format, etc. To fit a three hour movie to a single DVD the program must compress it to around 50%.

Btw, CloneDVD seems to me as the easiest "cloning" solution. You just throw in a movie, select video and audio parts, and wait until the ripping and writing process is finished...

Yes, it's normal, because a recordable DVD disc has only one layer and can thus hold 'only' 4.38 GB. Pressed LOTR DVD has two layers and holds over 7 GB of data...

Stay away from it turkeyscore.com.I tried it before DVD Shrink and the first 2 discs I put in hung and froze everything on my pc.Luckily I used DVD+RW's so no waste there. There's much better stuff out there like DVD Shrink,Recode 2(nero),DCS Dvd Copy Suite and many others.None of these other apps puts a watermark on the burnt disc so you can't copy it again.I think it's great that company(321 studios) pushes for freedom to copy anything you purchase but their product is average.

I completely disagree that 321 Studios product is average. I just bought DVD XCopy Gold this weekend and it has worked flawlessly for me! I've backed up 10 movies so far and not one coaster or problem.
