The LG combo drive is also good according to some of my friends. The Samsung drive here has had some tray problems here, consistantly.

The GCC-4521B from LG looks impressive to me.

Another vote for LG here. I am rather pleased with their drives.

*tosses in a vote for the 52x LiteON*

I've had a wonderful experience with their 48x combo, and their 52x combo should be just as good.

*stands up and says*

"LG"

*then sits back down again*

Although, in all likelihood, you can't go wrong with a Lite-On either. And don't overlook a Samsung, they still make good combos.

DVD-Rom/CD Combo Drive

Postby steelly on Sun Jun 27, 2004 11:00 am

I use a Samsung 352B combo drive with the 8 MegaByte Buffer. It is an excellent drive and compliments my Plextor 708A DVD burner quite handsomely!:D I have had not one problem burning CD's or using the DVD-Rom with DVD Shrink or DVD Decrypter. I would recommend this drive, but make sure you get the 8MB Buffer: Not the 2MB buffer!
