I am not sure I have the right driver for my 48x12x40 CenDyne CD-R/RW.

I had to reinstall Win98 SE and I have some unknown devices that I think may be the CD. I see from device manager that it is using a generic driver. Is this normal?

Win98 SE should show the CD-RW drive as being a CD-Rom. Check the device manager to see if you see that.
