Generally speaking, it's not so much the materials used that make a good disc, but HOW the materials are used...
You can get the same exact stuff Taiyo Yuden uses to make their discs, and give it to a chinese CD-R manufacturer, and watch them make crap not worthy of guarding a table from a cola can
