Creative DVD±RW Dual 8x Drive

Anyone know if the Creative Labs Dual 8x drive is a rebagged Teac?
Is there a review of the drive yet?

Yes the Creative is a BTC drive.

TEAC's dual format (DV-W58G) is most likely a Lite-On because AFAIK no other manufacturer makes a 170 mm short drive with those specifications and the same MTBF etc. From the picture in the manual it also has the emergency eject in the same place as Lite-On's drive.

TEAC's single format drive (DV-58E) on the other hand I'm not sure what it really is, but if not a NEC OEM ND-2100A at least it appers to be based on the same NEC uPD63630 chipset.

I had one, it was a Plextor rebadge, when they sold them very well, then they changed to a LiteOn rebadge. Later I bought an 16x LG, then a 24x Creative (Lite ON). Since then I have kept buying liteon only, except my DVDR.
