Cannot use SONIC

Postby SeahorseS on Mon Dec 12, 2011 12:21 pm

Please can you help me? When I open my SONIC Digitalmedia Plus v7 programme, I see at the bottom, Destination Selection the words "No Driver Detected".
Is this because I had a new DVD RW DRIVE put in via my insurance? I have xp windows ,Home edition sp2.I am not well up on computers, how do I get the drivers from the internet, step by step instructions may be needed please.
Thankyou ,SeahorseS.

Sonic Digitalmedia Plus v7 is an old program. It's very possible that it doesn't recognize your new DVD writer.

I'm not sure what you're using it for, but free apps like Imgburn are great at doing basic burning tasks.

Looks like there is a PX Engine update from 2009. Might want to give that a try too.

Thankyou Ian for your very quick replies. Yes Irealise Sonic is an old program but it did work well for burning . However I was going to try it for Audio.I have been given a mp3 2gb go gear raga as a present and have tried to down load SP3, i have installed the updates to make it alright with my Athlon p.c, but cannot install sp3 after trying twice now,, someone said sp3 does not like IE, I have IE 8. I will try Windows Media player 11, if that does not work would you recommend me uninstalling IE? and trying once more to install SP3.
Thanking you SeahorseS

Yes, you cannot install IE8 before SP3. You'll need to uninstall it, apply sp3 and then reinstall IE8 again. I don't think this will have any effect on the problems you're having with your Sonic software though.

Ian,
I downloaded the PX engine roxio patch you kindly gave me and it worked. My SONIC now recognises the new dvd drive, thankyou a million. Sonic may be old but its a simple grand little programme, for just burning its tops.
A big hug for you and a very happy new year.
I,m all smiles. And thankyou for the information re explorer 8
